An Scríobhlann / The Writing House:

Intensive Course in Short Story/Novel, September 2011

A comprehensive course in The Writing of the Short Story and the Novel will commence in An Scríobhlann on the weekend of Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September 2011. This course will be conducted over six alternate weekends between September 24th/25th and December 3rd/4th. The course, which will be conducted by Ré Ó Laighléis, will focus on the structure and essential elements of Short Story and Novel writing. It is an intensive course of instruction in these genres, involving ongoing deadlines for the participants and requiring the full commitment and attendance of the eight (8) who will be selected to participate.

An Scríobhlann is a training facility for prospective writers of fiction in English or Irish.
It is situated in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare and is a subdivision of the MÓINÍN publishing house.

At this point, training at An Scríobhlann is given only in the writing of prose.

• Courses are given in the writing of the short story and the novel.
An Scríobhlann offers single day, weekend, single week and longer term courses.
An Scríobhlann welcomes small school groups , writers’ groups and groups of individuals.
• Our trainers are fulltime writers who have backgrounds in teaching.
• Our trainers are accomplished and published award-winning authors in their respective genres.
